It’s October! My favorite time of the year. I love the cooling weather, the Pumpkin Spice Latte’s, the warm colors (even if our trees don’t really change colors here in Houston), the Pumpkin Spice Latte’s, and of coarse Halloween!
Wedding photography trends tend to shift slightly depending on the season, and October is no different. You’ll see more colors like orange, yellow, browns, plum, grey and even black. Pumpkins also make appearances (and why wouldn’t they?) and I just can’t get enough of sunflower arrangements.
October wedding photography styles tend to be a little more relaxed. Engagement photography is taken in soft, comfortable clothes. We tend to ditch the high heals for a cozy pair of boots.

Lastly, we can’t forget about the Halloween themed wedding photography.
One of the reasons why my favorite style is Halloween photography, is because of its contrast from soft and lovely that comes with weddings. It’s like taking photos of a couture dress in the back alley of a Chinese restaurant.
Halloween themes are an excuse to act a little kooky. I swear, Halloween weddings are where the photo-booth, crazy prop trend started.
